Field School Codirected by the Esselen Tribe

This summer of 2024 I will be in the Cabrillo College/Esselen archaeological field school, which is a collaborative effort, codirected by the Esselen Tribe and Cabrillo College.

The archaeological site is located in Carmel Valley (Monterey County, California), on a historic ranch that is the traditional homeland of the Esselen Tribe of Monterey County and is currently managed by the Esselen Tribe and The Wildlands Conservancy.

The project is working side-by-side with Esselen Tribal Citizens to identify and preserve Tribal cultural resources while learning to conduct CRM based archaeological fieldwork.
